PUGAT is open to everyone who writes about security, migration and society. You may be an experienced expert in your field, a migrant bearing witness from the ground, or a reader who has researched a subject in depth. You can send us your proposal using the form below.
What kind of articles are we looking for?
- Analysis: Source-based perspectives on the security, migration, legal and cyber agenda of Europe and Turkey.
- Guide: Up-to-date, practical information for people living in Europe or planning to, on topics such as residence, asylum, work, education and social life.
- Country Letter: Current affairs, observations and first-hand accounts from the country you live in.
- Commentary and Essay: Well-reasoned opinion and personal testimony.
Before you submit
- Send us a proposal first: your topic, your main argument, why it matters now and your connection to the subject. If you already have a finished draft, you are welcome to share it.
- Articles are usually between 500 and 1,500 words. This is not a strict rule; guides and series may be longer.
- List the sources for your factual claims at the end of the article.
- We accept articles previously published elsewhere only if you say so and hold the publication rights.
- If, for your safety, you do not want the article published under your name, please tell us; we can publish it under a country byline (for example “PUGAT Germany”) or a pen name.
What happens next?
Our editorial team will review your proposal and get back to you as soon as possible. Accepted articles are edited in line with our Editorial Principles; substantial changes are made only with your approval.
